DROUGHT OR DOUBT

“The foolishness of a man twists his way, and his heart frets against the LORD”    Proverbs 19 : 3

When the rains do not come and the soil is drier than baby powder, have we not walked through our gardens and seen stress scattered about like leaves on an autumn lawn?  Looking to the heavens, we ask God for relief only to watch the clouds gather and move past, mysteriously, without a drop of moisture for our parched plants? Then we are out purchasing soaker hoses to replace the rains that did not come.  Seems rather odd, doesn’t it?
Should we have not already purchased the soaker hoses knowing that these hot, dry days take their toll on our gardens?  We are stewards of the gifts God grows in our gardens. We know the ravages of life, including drought and doubt.  To better understand how to prepare for such adversity, there are several really good books; the best of which, the Holy Bible.
A daily dip in the scriptures refreshes and reinforces us for the stress of the day.

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,”       2 Timothy 3:16

Gardening tip:  Lawns requires at least one inch of water each week while some plants may require a little more or a little less. Water slowly that water may soak in rather than pool or run off.
