While finishing up breakfast this morning, we received a telephone call from Dr. Patterson’s office advising us that the arrival time for next Friday is 8:30 am with the expected surgery to begin around 11:30. I envisioned consciousness and pain to arrive around mid afternoon. I’m not sure about dinner.
Actually, I am looking forward to this surgery with such a different outlook that it is kind of scary. I made an “it’s almost already finished” list. I’m getting my yard, my garden and my life in order. Is my house right with God?Simply put, yes and no. From a spiritual perspective, yes, I know that when I die I will go to heaven and see Jesus sooner than you. Being in the flesh, I would want to spend more time with my wife, Kat, my garden and
God has been more than ‘good to me’. He revealed Himself through the forgiveness of my sins and He set a new path before me; a pathway through the ‘garden of life’ that I would never have anticipated. At the end of that path, God has prepared my true home, Heaven. God has made with me ‘an everlasting covenant’.
“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:5
