THE  CREATOR   THE MASTER

Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.  GENESIS 2:7

Our Creator-Master mined millions of molecules from creation to collect the matter from which he created us.  You are not an accident. God placed you in your family and in your location and situation. You are a starting point for yet another creature that will make his way through life until you find your source.  You, like all creatures will chase after your Creator until your Creator catches your soul.  Then this creature will become a family representative of the Creator-Father-God and as a child of The Living Father will have access to the Fathers’ will, love, power and garden.
As a family representative, the ‘new creature in Christ’ shall have powers and abilities, gifts and insight for his/her ministry ‘in the garden of life’.  This new representative, godener (January 22, 2012) becomes another link between Heaven and Earth.  God, the Master Gardener, created his garden, for training up his own.  One day He will harvest his crop and store them for eternity in the houses and barns of Heaven.
As we have our Master Gardener Handbook, so does the ‘Master Gardener’.  His garden book is the Holy Bible.  Visit it daily for directions in ‘godening’, God’s way.

“The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom.  The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.”  MATTHEW 13:38-40 NIV

Deadheading is one form of ‘harvesting’ that brings on extra blooming while other plants might better respond to ‘cutting back’ to bring on second blooming

RETURNING TO WORK   PLAY…LIFE

The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”  He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.  LUKE 8:24

Some of us older gardeners have days when we just don’t feel right, no specific ailments or complaints, just doesn’t feel right.  Other times, we have traumatic events that take us out of the picture. Replacing a hip; scoping a knee; something in the shoulder probably a rotator cup and the ever present back aches are common sources of major storms in our gardens. The list increases seemingly day by day.  Storms of life are upon the horizon.
The disciples were terrified of the storm that came up suddenly and they went to awaken Jesus who was sleeping in the boat.  Jesus spoke and the wind and the waters lay still.
In our garden of life, storms and other catastrophic events challenge the peacefulness we seek as we labor among the gardens of family, church and work. When storms come into our gardens we don’t have to go and awaken our Lord to tell him how big our storm is.  We need to face our storm and tell it how big our Savior is.

“...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” JOHN 10:10

We, like our plants, need to adjust to the amount of daylight, sunshine and labor we experience each day. Don’t over do it the first couple of days or you will pay the price the next couple of days.

    CENTURION-LIKE FAITH

“When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”  MATTHEW 8:10

This centurion was not a product of great spiritual training. He was not a Bible scholar nor did he come from a family with a long line of believers.  He had simply heard about Jesus, the things He was doing and the things he was saying. It was that simple.  That was enough for him.
Want to try your hand at ‘gardening’; something more than just cutting grass and spraying weeds?  Visit with friends who enjoy gardening and are “believers” in gardening.  Ask lots of questions.  Listen to what they say is happening in their lives and their gardens.  Then ask yourself, “What have you heard and what do you believe?”  Start simple. Keep records and take lots of pictures! The greatest of gardens start with the simplest of plantings. You plant the seeds, God makes them grow.

Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed possible. This power becomes available to you just as soon as you can change your beliefs.      Dr. Maxwell Maltz

MY  CREATOR   MY  FATHER

FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word.  PSALM; 119: 146

Before dawn enters my windows, I’m up in search of coffee and clarity. The computer calls, wanting to share the weather of the days ahead. Go for the Green, one of my daily devotionals, lies next to my Bible and I’m always torn between where to start in my search for His message for me that day.  Some days, He speaks in the voice of a new post which almost always surprises me.
He seems always there on the other side of the screen, both dictating and editing as we convert the inner groaning of my soul to black and white on the monitor.  And then by the magic of modern day miracles, the write-edit-rewrite cycle yields some version of a rough draft.  Those digital dialogs between God and self are converted to plain words containing messages for anyone who happens to wander through the electronically created pathways of my life, my garden and my blog.
Thank God for you coming through my garden today. Please read through some of the older posts as there is something there for everyone, maybe, especially you.  Welcome, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen and Amen

And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord.”  Colossians 3:17

MY CREATOR

Then the LORD God  formed a man from the dust of the ground and breather into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.    GENESIS 2:7

My Master mined from the millions of molecules of creation to collect the matter from which he created me.  I am not an accident. God placed me in my family and in my location and situation. I am a starting point for yet another creature that will crawl through life until I find my source.  I, like all creatures will chase after my Creator until my Creator catches my soul.  Then this creature will become a family representative of the Creator-Father-God and as a child of The Living Father will have access to the Fathers’ will, love, power and garden.

As we have our Master Gardener Handbook, so does the ‘Master Gardener’.  His garden book is called the Holy Bible.  Visit it daily for directions in ‘godening’, God’s way.

DREAM STEALERS

Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. GALATIANS 6:9

There are days when you want to just sit down, rest and let it all go!   There’s  too much weeding for the benefits of that bed.  The seeds you planted didn’t germinate.  The transplants aren’t looking good. You know in your minds eye and down deep in your heart that this garden can produce an abundance of flowers, beautiful foliage and veggies for sharing. There’s work that needs to be done in the house; errands to be run; people to call. On and on come the thieves that will steal your dreams.

Life, too, has dream stealers. Dream stealers live in the house with you; within your extended family and friends and work.  You know that sometimes your spouse or your child sees your life as a testimony of your faith and yet they do not “get it”.  Remember that it takes time to grow a garden and it may take time to allow those that are unsaved to “see the light”.  Make sure your light is shining brightly all the time for there are many who are in the darkness looking for something they will later call hope.

Neither do people light a lamp and put in under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.   MATTHEW 5:15

WE  ARE  ALL WATERING  CANS

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” ACTS  4:31

Maybe you are a very serious gardener who attends all the gardening workshops, has all the catalogs and visits every garden that opens its gates for a walk through. You’ve got a beautiful garden, some great ideas, but you don’t share.
Many of us Christians are much the same.  We have our own private relationship with God, His Son and the Holy Spirit.  Maybe you have some experiences with prayer, blessings and first hand knowledge of gifts from the Holy Spirit.  Yet, you don’t share.
Peter and the other followers were moved to a new level of discipleship when the Holy Spirit descended upon them.  Peter, who had the problem of foot in mouth, now spoke with new found authority and thousands responded to the “good news”.  What was previously locked up inside Peter was released by the Holy Spirit to begin a new spiritual work for the Lord that has survived the generations. One day, one man and history was changed.
Among other things, Peter was a carrier; a vessel; a watering can; as are we.  Whose garden will you walk through today?  Will you share your water with a drought ridden fellow gardener?

Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst;” JOHN 4:13-14
